Academic Background & Research Philosophy
I earned my PhD in 2023 from IIIT Bangalore, where my dissertation focused on the hardware acceleration of Machine Learning (ML) algorithms for edge devices. This work addressed critical bottlenecks in running complex AI models on energy-constrained platforms, proposing novel architectures that optimize computational throughput and power efficiency.
My passion lies in:
Bridging theoretical advances in AI with practical hardware implementations.
Designing energy-efficient, scalable FPGA/ASIC solutions tailored to the unique constraints of embedded systems.
Enabling intelligent automation across diverse domains—from autonomous drones and robotics to precision agriculture and smart IoT devices.
Professional Experience
Over the past decade, I have cultivated a rich portfolio of research and development spanning academia, research institutes, and industry collaborations. My journey includes:
Senior Research Associate at IIIT Bangalore’s Machine Intelligence and Robotics Centre (MINRO), focusing on AI hardware architectures.
Research positions at IIIT Hyderabad and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), where I honed expertise in embedded AI and computer vision.
CTO and co-founder of EdgeRON, where I lead efforts to commercialize FPGA/ASIC technologies for AI acceleration.
Vision & Impact
My overarching goal is to empower intelligent systems that operate reliably and autonomously at the edge, enabling transformative applications such as:
Autonomous navigation for drones and mobile robots.
Real-time agricultural monitoring for sustainable farming.
Smart city infrastructure that adapts dynamically to human needs.
Through my work, I aim to catalyze a future where AI is ubiquitously embedded in everyday devices, enhancing efficiency, safety, and quality of life.
